1. Admission Fee

KRW 1,000 (This is the general admission fee for Changgyeonggung Palace).
There is no separate or additional fee for the Moonlight Lotus Show. It is included with the standard palace admission ticket.

2. Program Details (8 Scenes)

The Moonlight Lotus Show is a media art exhibition composed of 8 distinct scenes located around the Chundangji Pond area. Each scene is based on a different Hanja (Chinese character) motif for "Hwa."

Scene 1: The Waterway of Conversation (Entrance Path)

(Motif: 話 - Conversation)

A space to begin a deep, immersive conversation with the palace, featuring pine trees that appear to "breathe" with light.

Scene 2: Moonlight Lotus Show (Dae Chundangji Pond)

(Motif: 花 - Flower)
This is the main show, projecting the harmony of Changgyeonggung's visible and invisible beauty onto the water's surface.

Scene 3: The Light of White Hair (White Pine Tree)

(Motif: 畵 - Painting)
This scene portrays the ancient white pine tree as the "palace's white hair." As it becomes "painted" with light, it evokes memories of the palace's splendid and magnificent past.

Scene 4: The Light of Harmony (Grand Greenhouse)

(Motif: 華 - Splendor)
The modern Grand Greenhouse is rendered as a "jewel box" floating on the water, symbolizing the harmony of tradition and modernity coexisting and overcoming a painful history.

Scene 5: The Breath of Water (So Chundangji Pond)

(Motif: 婲 - Pretty)
On the calm surface of the smaller pond, subtle sounds and light tremors convey the deep memories and emotions (joy, anger, sorrow, pleasure) embedded in the palace's history.

Scene 6: The Light of Peace (Promenade)

(Motif: 訸 - Peace)
Walking along this light-embroidered path signifies the sublimation of our past, present, and future conflicts into a feeling of peace.

Scene 7: The Honghwa Water-light (Exit Path)

(Motif: 和 - Harmony)
This scene, also described as the 'Water-light of Rebirth,' delivers a final message of harmony and revitalization, with palace patterns blooming onto a virtual waterway of light.

Scene 8: The Eternal Palace (Exit Path)

(Motif: 化 - To Become / Transform)
Before returning to the real world, visitors can reflect on their "conversation" with the palace. Sentences of remembrance appear in various languages, allowing visitors to leave carrying the palace's light of harmony within them.

3. Visitor Guidelines

Viewing is possible after purchasing a Changgyeonggung Palace admission ticket (KRW 1,000).
Last admission to the palace is at 20:00 (8:00 PM). For visitor safety, staff will begin guiding visitors toward the exit 30 minutes before the official closing time.
All areas within the palace are non-smoking zones.
As this is a National Heritage protection area, bringing in food, flammable materials, and recreational items (such as bicycles, scooters, etc.) is restricted.
Please be aware that media and broadcast crews may be on-site for coverage. Filming may occur without prior individual notice.
Photos and videos taken during the event may be used for official promotion, research, and publications for the Royal Palaces and Tombs Utilization Program.
